Dwog Pacu Cup Football Tournament Makes Progress

Dwog Pacu Cup football tournament has has made significant strides as the event draws closure,Kenneth Kaunda Okwir,the chairperson organising committe has confirmed.
Dwog Pacu is a Lango word that loosely translates to "come back home" and this means Native players in any part of the world including professional footballers can return home and play for their constituencies although the number is restricted to three
Atleast Fourteen out of 21 constituencies in the Lango sub-region have started making payments for the affiliation fee, with some having fully settled the Shs 500,000 fee.
According to Kenneth Kaunda, the opening ceremony, initially scheduled for July 7, has been postponed to July 12. This extension was made to accommodate requests from various constituencies that needed more time to secure funds for affiliation fees.
The tournament will be held at UTC and Lango College grounds, as the Lira Town College is currently under renovation. Upon completing the payment, each constituency will receive a set of jerseys as part of the participation requirements.
Jonan Okello, Secretary of the Dwog Pacu Cup, assured the public during a press briefing at Kk Cham Sports Centre in Lira on Wednesday, June 25, that jerseys for constituencies that have fully paid are being processed and will be distributed soon.
The Secretary encouraged other constituencies to make their payments by the extended deadline to receive their jerseys and participate in the tournament.
