Lango Bicycle Riders Club is gearing up to participate in the 2025 National Road Cycling Championship in Mbarara City, Uganda, from June 28th to 29th.

Ambrose Ogwang, one of the elders among the executive members said the riders have been training with long-distance rides from Lira City to Dokolo, Kamdini, and Apac, among other districts.

Ambrose is hopeful that the top performers from Lango Bicycle riders Will qualify for the 2025 UCL Road World Championship in Kigali, Rwanda, this September.

Derick Ogwal, the Chairperson Lango Bicycle riders is assertive that the club has submitted riders information via an online link provided on June 14th, 2025.

Ogwal adds the club aims to compete for national and Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) points, showcase talent, support cycling growth in Uganda, strengthen regional connections, and promote health, fitness, and sustainable transport.

Categories and Distances

    Men's Elite:119.5 km

    Women's Race:71.9 km

    Men's Junior:71.9 km

    Individual Time Trial:23.9 km

This prestigious event is the third competition on the Uganda Cycling Association (UCA) ,2025 calender and is officially recognized by the Union Cyclist international (UCI) as a class event, meaning it is a qualifying event for the 2025( UCI) Road world Championship to be held in Kigali, Rwanda this September.Riders will have the opportunity to earn UCI points and compete for national titles.
