Awebada, Lira City — It was a moment of joy and thanksgiving at Awebada Church of Uganda, Bar Parish, this Sunday as church leaders expressed their love for Hon. Min. Sam Engola with a special gift, and received generous pledges in return.

 During the service, Mr. Oluka Obonyo Daniel, on behalf of the church, gifted Hon. Engola with a chicken as a token of appreciation for his continued fellowship and support to the church alongside other gifts like a sheep, ground nuts In response, Hon.

Engola, visibly moved by the gesture, announced a pledge to support the church's work. He pledged to gift Mr. Obonyo Daniel the (Oluka) with a motorbike to facilitate his work in the church, saying the love shown to him by the Christians had touched his heart.

The motorbike will be delivered within two days. In addition, Hon. Engola blessed the Parish Priest, Rev. Lawrence Opio Oyom, with a car to support his pastoral ministry. The car is expected to be delivered in two weeks.

Speaking to the congregation, Hon. Engola, who is also a businessman dealing in cars, revealed that his giving is rooted in his faith. "Every time I buy ten cars, I am given one car for free. I made a commitment that all those free cars will always be given to church leaders, because it is God who blesses me, and I must be a blessing to others as well," Engola said. 

He further urged Christians not to misunderstand his generosity, noting that his giving is a personal covenant with God. "No one should feel bad about my donations. It is not about people, it is about me and my commitment to God," he added. The congregation broke into ululation and praise as the pledges were made, thanking Hon. Engola for his continued support for the work of God in Lango and beyond.
