North Kyoga Police Region Bids Farewell to RPC Nganizi, Welcomes SSP Mukiza

LIRA CITY, June 23, 2026 — The North Kyoga Police Region has officially bid farewell to its outgoing Regional Police Commander (RPC), ACP Wesley Nganizi, following his transfer to the Uganda Police Force Headquarters, and welcomed SSP Hillary Mukiza as the new RPC.

The official handover ceremony took place on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 10:20 a.m. at the North Kyoga Regional Police Headquarters in Erute, Lira City.

The event was witnessed by several senior police officers, including the Deputy Regional Police Commander (D/RPC), Sector Commander, Regional Criminal Investigations Department (RCID) officer, Regional Criminal Intelligence Officer (RCIO), Regional Human Resource Officer (R/HRO), Regional Community Liaison Officer (R/CLO), Public Relations Officer (PRO), and the District Police Commander (DPC) of Lira City Central.

In a farewell message issued by the North Kyoga Regional Police leadership and staff, ACP Nganizi was praised for his exceptional commitment, discipline, and professionalism during his tenure. Officers described him as a dedicated leader who emphasized time management, accountability, and effective execution of duties.

The officers also commended his integrity and firm stance against corruption, noting that his leadership promoted honesty, fairness, and professionalism in public service. His coordination and mobilization efforts during special operations were credited for contributing significantly to the success of police activities across the region.

ACP Nganizi was further recognized for prioritizing the welfare of officers by encouraging work-life balance and allowing personnel time to visit their families, a move that strengthened morale within the force.

“Your exemplary service, guidance, and unwavering commitment have left a lasting impact on North Kyoga Region,” the farewell message stated, while wishing him success in his new assignment.

Meanwhile, the North Kyoga Police Region warmly welcomed SSP Hillary Mukiza as the new Regional Police Commander. Officers pledged their full cooperation and support as he assumes leadership of the region.

In a welcome message signed by North Kyoga Regional Police Spokesperson SP Patrick Jimmy Okema, officers expressed confidence in SSP Mukiza’s leadership and experience, pledging to continue serving the public with professionalism, discipline, and integrity.

The police leadership also called upon members of the public to support the new RPC as the region continues efforts to enhance security, strengthen community trust, and achieve the objectives of the Uganda Police Force.

SSP Mukiza officially assumes command of the North Kyoga Police Region with expectations of building on the achievements of his predecessor while advancing policing and security initiatives across the region.
