Lango College Qualifies for Boys Schools Cricket week Nationals in Fort Portal
At the end of the city qualifiers, Lango College emerged as champions, followed by Mentor SS as runners-up.

LIRA — Lango College has qualified for the Boys Schools Cricket Week National Finals slated for 22nd - 29th in Fort Portal City. The journey to nationals started with City qualifiers held in Lira where four schools took part including Comboni College, Lango College, Mentor SS and Railway Seed.

At the end of the city qualifiers, Lango College emerged as champions, followed by Mentor SS as runners-up. For the regional qualifiers, two schools were required from each region. However, since the Northern Region is big, it was allocated three slots for the nationals.
The regional qualifiers hosted in Gulu City attracted 7 schools ,3 from Gulu, 2 from Masindi, 1 from Arua and 1 from Lira. Mentor SS missed out due to transportation challenges for their players. At the regionals, Layibi College were crowned champions, Gulu High finished as runners-up, while Lango College took third place, securing qualification for the national finals.

All three schools have now qualified to represent the Northern Region at the nationals. On Saturday 22nd August,the boys have set off for Fort Portal for the one-week long Boys Schools Cricket Week National Championship that runs from 22nd to 29th August.
