Kole Youth Councillor Urges UCE Candidates to Reject Fear Ahead of National Exams.

KOLE- Youth Councillor representing the youth in Kole District Council has urged candidates preparing for the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and Uganda Advanced examinations to overcome fear and approach the national examinations with confidence.
The call was made during a dedication prayer for candidates of Project Hope Secondary School in Akalo Sub-county,Kole District,as the learners prepare to sit their national examinations.
Speaking during the ceremony,Haron Olum, the Youth Councillor representing the youth in Kole District Council,encouraged the candidates to remain focused and avoid fear,saying anxiety can affect their concentration and performance during examinations.
Olum urged the candidates to believe in themselves and use the remaining time to revise seriously and prepare adequately for their examinations.
He said that if learners overcome fear and remain committed to their studies,the academic performance of schools in Lango and Uganda at large can continue to improve. Olum also reminded the candidates that examinations should not be viewed as the beginning or end of their education,noting that they still have opportunities to continue with higher education and pursue their future careers.
He further said that,as a youth leader in the district,he is committed to supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening education and youth development in Kole.
Meanwhile,Fred Ebong,who spoke on behalf of parents,encouraged the candidates to remain disciplined,respectful and obedient as they prepare for their examinations.
Ebong urged the learners to dedicate more time to reading and revision,saying success in the examinations would not only benefit the candidates but also bring pride to their parents and the school.
Denis Emiko,the Director of Project Hope Secondary,Primary and Nursery Schools, said the institution's vision is to prepare learners for a brighter future by providing quality education and a strong academic foundation.
Emiko appealed to parents facing financial challenges to engage with school authorities so that challenges affecting their children's education can be addressed through dialogue and cooperation.
He said strong cooperation between parents and school leaders is important in ensuring that learners remain in school and that academic standards continue to improve in Kole District and Lango at large.
As a guest at the dedication ceremony,Dr. Linda Ogwal,One of the Director of Wisdom High School and a lecturer at Lira University, urged the candidates to put God first as they prepare for their examinations.
Dr.Ogwal encouraged the learners to pray, remain focused and give their best effort, emphasizing that education remains important in preparing young people for future opportunities.
She urged the candidates not to neglect their studies,noting that young people need education to compete for opportunities in today's society. Project Hope Secondary School has 72 candidates preparing for the national examinations,comprising 32 boys and 40 girls.
