LONDON, UK -The Paramount Chief of Lango, His Royal Highness Dr. Michael Moses Odongo Okune, is scheduled to hold a Royal Audience with the Lango Kingdom UK Diaspora from 7th to 11th October 2026 The historic visit to the United Kingdom will bring together Lango people living in the diaspora under the theme of celebrating heritage and strengthening development partnerships for Lango and Uganda.
According to organisers, the Royal Audience is aimed at: - Celebrating and preserving Lango culture and heritage abroad - Mobilising investment for Lango Sub-region - Strengthening partnerships between the diaspora, the Kingdom, and Uganda
HRH Dr. Odongo Okune is expected to meet with leaders of the Lango community in the UK, cultural enthusiasts, investors and well-wishers during the five-day engagement.
The gathering is seen as a major step in uniting the Lango diaspora and harnessing their contribution towards the socio-economic transformation of Lango and Uganda at large.
