KAMPALA UGANDA -The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) has declared a 22.53 percent interest rate on members’ savings for the financial year ended June 30, 2026. The announcement was made yesterday, September 24, during the 14th NSSF Annual

Members’ Meeting held at the Kampala Serena Hotel. Finance Minister Hon. Henry Musasizi said the interest rate will see Shs5.44 trillion credited to members’ accounts, making it the highest interest rate declared in the Fund’s history.

The meeting also reviewed NSSF’s financial performance, investments and future plans. The Fund reported that its total income rose by 85 percent to Shs6.51 trillion, while assets under management increased to Shs32.8 trillion by June 2026. Member contributions also grew by 13 percent to Shs2.42 trillion.

NSSF Managing Director Patrick Ayota presented the Fund’s performance report.

While ,Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Henry Tumukunde urged the Fund to strengthen competence and play a broader role in Uganda’s economic development.
