Four Dead, Eight Injured in Fatal Kole District Road Accident

KOLE - The Territorial Police in Kole District have reported a tragic road accident along the Lira–Kamdini Highway at Corner Park, which claimed four lives and left eight others seriously injured. 

The incident occurred on 21st October 2025 at around 8:30AM

According to SP Patrick Jimmy Okema, the Public Relations Officer for North Kyoga Region, preliminary investigations indicate that a Fuso lorry, loaded with beans, attempted to overtake a Datsun pickup carrying rice. In the process, the lorry collided with the pickup while trying to avoid an oncoming vehicle, overturning onto it. Four occupants died on the spot, while eight others were rushed to Lira Regional Referral Hospital for treatment.

Police teams, including traffic officers and specialized units, have visited the scene for documentation and investigation. Both vehicles have been towed to Kole Police Station for mechanical inspection, and the bodies of the deceased have been moved to Lira Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.

The Uganda Police Force extends condolences to the families of the deceased and urges all road users to observe traffic regulations and exercise caution to prevent further tragedies.
