LIRA CITY — Former Oyam South parliamentary aspirant Queen Dorothy Amolo has unveiled an ambitious agenda centered on Artificial Intelligence, saying the technology can help Uganda fight corruption, create jobs, improve service delivery, and promote transparency in both public and private sectors.

Speaking to the Lango media on Monday, 13th July 2026 at Pauline Hotel in Lira City, Amolo, who holds a background in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Engineering, said Uganda must embrace emerging technologies to accelerate national development.

She revealed that she has developed an AI platform called "256", designed to help Ugandans access information faster, improve communication, combat corruption, enhance transparency in government and business, and connect citizens to opportunities more easily. “Artificial Intelligence is no longer the future - it is the present.

Uganda must embrace AI if we are to reduce corruption, improve service delivery, create jobs, and compete with the rest of the world,” Amolo said.

She argued that AI has become a key driver of economic growth globally and Uganda should not be left behind in adopting technologies that can transform livelihoods and strengthen governance. Amolo also called on the Government of Uganda to invest in AI technologies and digital innovation, noting that many countries are already using Artificial Intelligence to improve efficiency, strengthen public services, and drive economic transformation.

According to her, Uganda should position itself as a regional leader in digital innovation by encouraging AI adoption across key sectors including education, healthcare, agriculture, commerce, and public administration.

As part of her digital innovation campaign, Amolo announced that she will officially launch the "256" AI platform on 29th July 2026 in Kampala. At the launch, she is expected to demonstrate how the technology can support business growth, fight corruption, improve communication, and expand access to information for Ugandans.
