Lira- City West Division Police Records a Hit and Run Fatal Accident

North Kyoga Police Region spokesperson, SP, Jimmy Patrick Okema has confirmed the sudden death of an unidentified person who was knocked dead on Monday morning. The unfortunate incident happened on Christmas Monday 25th December, 2023 from around Amuca SDA along Lira-Kamdini road at around 05:30 hours.

“It's alleged that a rider of an unidentified motorcycle knocked a yet to be identified man and died instantly. He was suspected to be crossing the road and the rider who is not identified disappeared with the motorcycle”, noted Okema.

Okema says the police were notified who later visited the scene led by the OC traffic Lira-City West Division.

He also confirmed that the deceased was picked and conveyed to Lira Regional Referral Hospital's mortuary pending post mortem.

However, he also noted that the rider is still at large while inquiries into the matter are on.
