The newly appointed Electoral Commission chairperson, Justice Simon Byabakama has assured the public of a free and fair election in 2026.
He was on Wednesday morning speaking after taking oath for a second term as the Electoral Commission chairperson.
The function was presided over by the Chief Justice Alphonse Owiny Dollo at the Judiciary headquarters in Kampala.
In his acceptance speech on behalf of his team, Justice Byabakama said whereas some people have in the past doubted him, he is ready to prove them wrong in his second term of office ahead of the 2026 general elections
