Uganda’s U-17 women’s national team, the Teen Cranes, successfully defended their CECAFA U-17 Women’s Championship title after a commanding 3-0 victory over hosts Tanzania in Tuesday’s final at KMC Stadium.

Justine Ayerango broke the deadlock with a composed finish to put Uganda ahead Brenda Nassaka doubled the lead with a well-taken strike And Flavia Yagala finished a well-delivered pass from Nassaka to seal the win

The Teen Cranes got sweet revenge against Kenya 3-0 in a semi final for their FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier exit to Kenya on away goals. Shadia Nabirye broke the deadlock, Immaculate Acen made it 2-0, and Kenya’s Jael Samiyu scored an own goal to make it 3-0.
